My strengths are leadership and flexibility. Most of the groups I have worked in get distracted easily, and we don't get the work done in time. I have developed to take leadership and get them back on track and working.
I also don't care what role someone has as long as they take it seriously and get it done. I also like to have them choose what role they are more interested in so that they will get it done. My weaknesses are creative thinking and risk taking. I am not the best at coming up with creative names. Just yesterday we had to come up with a team name and I couldn’t think of anything at all! I can think of creative things after awhile of thinking about them but I can’t do it quickly. I can take risk when doing a project, sometimes I don’t like to because it might mess up what we are doing. It is fun to take risk because you can improve on what you are doing, and make it more interesting. But it can also mess it up. It can mess it up because you can break something or you get off track and don’t get it done on time. I am going to try and improve these weaknesses by taking more risks with the group trying different things, and thinking more about it not being creative but being creative. So it is easier to come up with things.

What do you wish to see happen with this project?
I wish to see it successful and go as planned. I hope that it will turn out as we wish and be funner, and more hands on than previous exhibitions. I hope that we all can do our roles that we have been assigned to do, do them well, and do them on time. What would you like to hear a parent say about the exhibition? How about a sociology professor? I would like a parent or someone that attended the exhibition say something like: It was a very well planned event, it was very exciting, and if you were to do it again I would come. Or It was very successful and exciting, this is something you could improve on or do different, but you should definitely do it again or progress on it and make it bigger. How do we make sure that we are presenting accurate information to our audience? We can do research and check our information. We can use evidence from essays, articles, books ETC. Don't just say something random that pops into your head about a question someone asks you, if you don't know the answer have them research it or tell them you will get back to them. Make sure you have gathered your information from somewhere instead of making it up. Have the piece of evidence you are referring to, so that if they want to learn more about it you can tell them this is what I got the information off of you can go read it to learn more, or something like that. Summary of what we are doing and what we have been doing.
We are planning our exhibition for the mask project. We have been doing this for almost a week now. Both humanities classes got together to plan an idea of what we might like to do to make it fun. We were in 5 different groups, every group had 4 to 5 people, and they had their own idea that they were planning. We made posters or storyboards, and put them up in the hallways of the school, and then we made a video of our plan and why we want that idea, then we sent that out in an email to 10 different people for more feedback. The problems this exhibition is trying to address. We are trying to make this fun for everyone, instead of having the students stand around and show their mask, and talk about it in a small crowded room, we are planning a fun safe exhibition. What are you excited about doing for exhibition? WHY? This could also include other needed roles - Project Manager (application based) Fundraising, PR/Marketing - local and online, Location services/exhibition crew Construction, Design, Videography Performance. Others?! I am excited to make it fun for everyone. I am interested in making a video about it to explain it and make it more entertaining for others. What specifically do you want to work on? I want to make it fun and successful for everyone, and I don't want them to be confused, I think maybe add a video will help because we can explain it easier and we don't have to talk about it and try to explain it several times to new people coming in. the video can always be playing. What reflections do you have from the last two weeks based on working in your groups that will help you moving forward with new groups? I have learned that everyone is going to have different ideas and you need to listen to them even if you don't want to change your idea, you can add to it. It is easier to know the people you are working with a little bit because it helps to work with them. If you have a person in your group that distracts you or the rest of the group, keep working and get the others in your group to keep working and they will eventually work or help you. I am a person that has always worked alone so it is easier for me to do that, but I can work in groups and I can keep people on track for them most part because I like to work and get it done. |
